DAY BY DAY ITINERARY: Day 1. WELCOME TO COSTA RICA . Arrivals to the International Airport Juan Santamaria. Meet and Great by our tour guide and transfer to Hotel Herradura
Day 2. POAS VOLCANO AND LA PAZ WATERFALLS. (B,L,D). Enjoy the contrasts of urban and rural areas, as we drive to the Poas Volcano National Park and continue up the mountains toward San Pedro de Poas. The good climate and fertile soils make this area very productive. Dairy farming, coffee, sugar cane, vegetables, all can be seen during this tour. Poas Volcano National Park is considered the largest geyser in the world, due to its explosive, geyser-like eruptions, which it frequently displays at irregular intervals. This park offers more than just the spectacular volcanic activity. The visitor will be struck by the intense green colour of the foliage and the great variety of wild flowers. The most conspicuous plant in the park is the poor man's umbrella, whose leaves grow up to 2 meters in diameter. On a clear day you will see the lagoon at the bottom of the crater, whose muddy waters changes colours depending on the volcanic activity .
After enjoying the attractions of this park, we will take the road to La Paz Waterfall Gardens . This complex is an excellent educational center where you will learn about butterflies, Orchids and hummingbirds. Five magnificent waterfalls with nine observation platforms allow the visitors a close up view of the falls and the spectacular La Paz River .
Waterfall Gardens is proud to have one of the largest Butterfly Observatories in the world. The enclosed structure allows butterflies to soar freely while guests walk amid the natural habitat. An on site laboratory is a breeding ground for the eleven fluttering species. Each guest will have the opportunity to release a newly emerged butterfly. In the Hummingbird garden, our feathered friends will delight and fascinate you with their antics as they play and fight with each other at amazing speeds. These normally skittish creatures have become so tame; they will feed within a few feet of you. After exploring Waterfall Gardens , you will enjoy a delicious buffet style lunch at the terrace dinning room.
Day 3. SUPER COMBO TOUR. (B, L). Full Day Adventure with our special SUPER COMBO TOUR.
The SUPER COMBO is the most natural way to experience the beauty of Costa Rica , while actively participating in some wonderful soft adventure tours. We will visit wilderness areas at the same time as we enjoy various special tours, all in full contact with nature. This journey will submerge us into the great diversity of natural activities available in Costa Rica , making the adventure and wildlife observation an album of experiences not soon to be forgotten.
The Costa Rica adventure tour starts with a 90 minutes bus ride to Sarapiqui town, located on the Caribbean lowlands of Costa Rica . Arriving by 9:00 AM to Hacienda Pozo Azul, we will start our adventure with a horseback riding trip into the rain forest, where the Zip Lines are waiting for you. After this, we continue our trip on the tree tops of this beautiful and unique place. Ending after enjoy the longest cable, that cross the Sarapiqui River , a delicious buffet lunch will be waiting for. In the afternoon, the whitewater rafting trip (class III) will end this SUPER COMBO TOUR , the best way to experience the real adventure of Costa Rica . Overnight at Hotel Herradura.
Day 4. ARENAL VOLCANO. (B, D). During the morning, land transfer to the beautiful region of La Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano. Check In at Hotel Volcano Lodge or Arenal Paraiso. During the afternoon, we will visit the Hot Springs, where you can relax in the soothing waters and be caressed by the cool night air while observing the stars and the incredible night sky above the volcano.
After enjoy the thermal pools, buffet dinner at the Spa's Restaurant
Day 5. ARENAL VOLCANO. (B). Free time at Arenal for enjoy the hotel facilities or explore the region by yourself. Lunch and dinner on your own.
Day 6. PAPAGAYO GULF . (B, D). By mid morning, land transfer to Golfo de Papagayo, one of the most beautiful places of Costa Rica . Check in at Hotel Allegro Papagayo with All Inclusive Service. Allegro Papagayo by Occidental provides a perfect place for your Costa Rican experience. Directly on Manzanillo beach, the azure blue waters of the Pacific Ocean invites you to sample the many watersports or explore the many optional tours available. Set in an exotic jungle locale, rest and relax with open-air dining and cocktails by the pool, or participate in the many activities available. Remember to visit the resort's private beach club, just 10 minutes away by boat.
